About us

Artes Review publishes musicology studies and articles authored by researchers, professors and PhDs from reputable universities and colleges both domestic and foreign.

Artes was first issued in 1996 by the University Press as a collection of art theory studies (in areas such as music, drama, the beaux arts) and has been exclusively music-oriented since its fouth issue.

The review's contents and periodicity has been in close connection with the National Symposium on Musicology “The Science of Music” (organised by the University of Arts since 1997), with the National Symposium on Musicology “Identity and Contextuality in Romanian Contemporary Music”, as well as with the objectives of the “Science of Music” Research Centre, accredited by the National Centre for Academic Research (CNCSIS) in 2004.
